The following resources provide more information on scholarship opportunities.  
Columbia Southern University (CSU) and the National Volunteer Fire Council have teamed up to offer two scholarships each year to members of the NVFC to attend CSU, which offers online degree programs in a variety of fields including fire science. The scholarship application period typically opens in late spring.
The NVFC National Junior Firefighter Program has compiled a listing of organizations that offer scholarships. Most of the scholarships are for college students studying fire engineering, fire protection, fire safety, or emergency medical services. However, a few scholarships are available for children of current, retired, or deceased firefighters - regardless of the students' major area of study.

International Association of Arson Investigators Scholarship
This scholarship is for members of the International Association of Arson Investigators who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the next scheduled semester of a two or four year accredited college or university that offers courses in police or fire sciences including fire investigation and related subjects.
International Association of Fire Chiefs Foundation Scholarships
The IAFC Foundation offeres a series of scholarships and awards to support the educational needs of the fire service and help our nation's first responders master the challenges of today and tomorrow.
National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Scholarships
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation offers financial assistance for post-secondary education and training to spouses, life partners, children, and stepchildren of fallen firefighters.
National Fire Protection Association Scholarships and Grants
The NFPA offers scholarships and grants for the fire service, for public educators, and for undergraduate and graduate students.
The National Law Enforcement and Firefighters Children's Foundation Scholarships
These scholarships are for children of law enforcement officers or firefighters lost or permanently disabled in the line of duty.
Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation Scholarship
Since 1995, YLD has provided special scholarship assistance for leadership development in the emergency services.
