International Relief Fund

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) established the International Relief Fund to help volunteer firefighters worldwide who have been impacted by a large scale disaster.

The fund was created in the wake of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011. In that disaster, about 250 firefighters lost their lives while working to evacuate residents, and many more suffered tremendous losses as loved ones, homes, and communities fell victim to the tsunami. Thanks to the generous support of first responders across the U.S., the NVFC International Relief Fund raised $10,000 to help firefighters severely injured in the disaster as well as the families of firefighters who lost their lives.

The NVFC International Relief Fund remains active to support other countries who experience large scale disasters on an as-needed basis. To contribute to the fund by credit card, click the Donate button below.
