NVFC Fall Meeting

 

Please join the National Volunteer Fire Council for its annual Fall Board Meeting (hosted by the Minnesota Fire Service) in Minneapolis, MN. Meeting agenda and general information will be updated periodically, so check back again. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

The Minnesota Fire Service has arranged for a Wednesday afternoon golf outing and several activities for spouses during the week. Please note your interest in these events on the Registration Form.

 

Golf - There is a planned golf outing on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 12-5 pm. Pre-registration is required. More details will be available soon, including club and green fees. The Minnesota Fire Service will provide transportation to and from the course.

 

Waterous Manufacturing Plant Tour – If you’re not playing a round of golf, consider joining us for an informative 90-minute tour of the Waterous manufacturing plant tour on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 2-4 pm. Waterous Company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fire pumps, foam systems, fire hydrants, gate valves, swing check valves, and tapping sleeves. We are invited to tour their 200,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in South St. Paul.  It will focus on the machining, assembly, and testing of fire pumps, hydrants, and gate valves. You will be able to see first-hand how these products are manufactured, and will be able to ask questions regarding their application, use, servicing, and repair. Meet in the hotel lobby at 2:00 pm where buses will pick us up for the 15 minute ride to the plant.  There is no charge for this activity.

 

Spouse Tours - There are two spouse activities planned.

Arrangements have been made at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. It is a 10 minute ride from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport and is situated right by the famous Mall of America.

There are two easy ways to make reservations:

• From the Airport: Shuttle leaves from Upper Level - Lindberg/Terminal 1, every hour on the hour (7:00am – 10:00pm)
• From the Hotel: Shuttle leaves from outside the Lobby every hour at the half hour (6:30am – 9:30pm)
