NVFC Lifetime Achievement Award

The nomination period for the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award is now closed.
 
The National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Scott Health and Safety, annually honors those individuals whose remarkable achievements in the fire service and community exemplifies outstanding performance. To be considered for the award, nominees must have been a volunteer firefighter for at least twenty (20) years. Each nominee will be judged on the following criteria:
 
  • Nominee has made a major contribution or has achieved significant accomplishments in the volunteer fire service on a local, state, and/or national level.
  • Nominee has demonstrated superior dedication to the volunteer fire service and has served as a volunteer firefighter for at least twenty (20) years.
  • Nominee has been active in their state firefighters’ association.
  • Nominee has demonstrated community impact through the fire service or other volunteer activities.
 
The selection of the NVFC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will be determined through a nationwide nomination process. The recipient of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award will be recognized at a special Awards Banquet in conjunction with the NVFC Fall Board Meeting and will receive:
 
  • Trip to Alexandria, VA, to attend Awards Banquet
  • Complimentary registration for the NVFC Spring Board Meeting
  • Recognition as guest of honor at the NVFC Spring Board Meeting Awards Banquet
  • Complimentary 1-year NVFC Personal Membership
  • Personalized award
  • Place in NVFC history
 
Nomination packets must include:
 
  • Nomination form.
  • 500-word essay describing the nominee’s accomplishments in and dedication to the volunteer fire service.
  • Detailed resume or background sheet of no more than two (2) pages containing an overview of the individual's experience, education, or other pertinent information.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation supporting the nominee.
  • No more than three (3) additional supporting documents, such as articles or additional recommendation letters (optional). Please note that only the first three additional supporting documents submitted will be reviewed.

 
Please note – if chosen, award recipient must submit a digital photo to be used for NVFC newsletters, web sites, etc.
