Structure

The NVFC is made up of 49 state fire associations, which appoint a member from their organization to serve as the Director from their respective state. Some states also select an Alternate Director to take the place of the Director if needed. These Directors comprise the NVFC Board of Directors, which meets twice a year. Each state has one vote. The Directors elect Officers (Chairman, First Vice Chairman, Second Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer) every two years.

Beyond the state associations, the NVFC offers membership to individuals (Personal Membership), fire and EMS departments (Department Membership) and to the corporate world (Corporate Membership). The Council is made up of committees with anywhere from three to eleven representatives. The committees typically meet twice a year, in conjunction with the biannual meetings. Committees also hold conference calls and interact on the Internet. Committee Chairs are selected by the NVFC Chairman.
