The National Fire Academy's (NFA) first semester FY 2010 application period closes on June 15. This deadline is for courses offered between October 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010 at the NFA campus in Emmitsburg, MD. Apply today to take advantage of this opportunity for free fire and emergency service training.

 

The first semester course schedule, including courses offered through the Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP), is available at www.usfa.dhs.gov/applications/nfacsd/. Instead of the normal two-week courses offered by NFA, VIP is an intensive 6-day educational opportunity designed specifically for volunteer and combination department emergency services personnel. These courses are tailored to the special needs of volunteers while maintaining the content, quality, and integrity of the longer courses.

 

To apply, fill out the application form at www.usfa.dhs.gov/nfa/about/attend/apply.shtm. The site also contains tips for completing a successful NFA application. All applications must be postmarked by June 15.
