Craig Fugate Sworn-In as FEMA Administrator
Craig Fugate, President Obama’s nominee for Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), was sworn in by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on May 19. Fugate, whose nomination was confirmed on May 12 by a voice vote in the U.S. Senate, began his emergency services career as a volunteer firefighter and most recently served as the Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
