Podcast Discusses Alarming Increase in Significant Multiple-Fatality Fires
January 2009 saw an increase in significant multiple-fatality fires compared to January 2007 and 2008, with 21 fires claiming 82 lives. Of those that died in these blazes last month, 62 percent were children. Ed Comeau, owner of writer-tech.com and publisher of Campus Firewatch, hosts a podcast on Firehouse.com that discusses this alarming and tragic trend, its impact on both the national and local levels, and the steps one department is taking to counteract it.
