Thank You to Fire and Emergency Service Volunteers
Published Date: 04.11.2011
It’s National Volunteer Week, and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) wants to thank all of the volunteer first responders and Fire Corps members who protect our communities and keep our nation safe.
Volunteers make up 71% of the fire service. Our nation relies on the over 1 million volunteer firefighters, EMS providers, and rescue workers who put their community members and the call of service above themselves. We depend on your dedication and commitment every day of the year. Thank you for all you do to strengthen our communities and protect those in need.
We also appreciate the efforts of the Fire Corps volunteers who provide support to their local emergency service departments. Your contributions help local departments thrive and increase the preparedness and safety of your communities.
The NVFC is here to support the volunteer emergency services and provide tools, resources, and programs to assist you in your efforts. Whether it relates to advocacy, funding, retention and recruitment, health and safety, or a myriad of other emergency service issues, we are working for you. Check out all of our resources at www.nvfc.org.
