Pipeline Response Guide Available
Published Date: 01.09.2012
The National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) is excited to provide Pipeline Emergencies, 2nd Edition to first responders. This dynamic training curriculum has a number of enhancements and improvements over the 1st Edition. The program and curriculum components are very flexible, and can be delivered in a variety of formats and time frames. In addition, Pipeline Emergencies is now available in a completely electronic format with embedded video clips throughout to help illustrate important points. New material on highly volatile liquids, hydrogen, and ethanol pipeline emergencies has been added to the 2nd Edition.
All revisions, as well as the original program, were developed by NASFM with the input of specialists from the fire service, pipeline industry, PHMSA, and hazardous materials response experts. All materials associated with Pipeline Emergencies, 2nd Edition are accessible online at www.pipelineemergencies.com.
In addition, NASFM has developed and deployed a fully functional and easy to access “app” for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, provided free of charge under the NASFM and PHMSA logos. A Droid option will also be available soon, making the program accessible to an even broader range of handheld devices. The materials in the app are identical to those contained in the textbook, and since it can be downloaded, it makes the information available when users need it for reference even when not at their computer or near their textbook.
Electronic copies can be viewed at no cost. Traditional hard copy materials as well as CD copies of the program, DVDs of the videos, and all the instructor materials are available for purchase. If you are interested in purchasing hard-copy material, send an email to info@firemarshals.org or call 202-737-1226 Ext 4. When ordering please mention that you heard of this program through the NVFC.
