Published Date: 11.14.2011
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is co-sponsoring a one-day Pipeline Emergency Response Forum with the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives and the United States Fire Administration on December 9, 2011. The meeting will be held at 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590 in the atrium of the west building. The main forum sessions from 8:00am-11:30am and from 4:00pm-5:15pm will be webcast while breakout sessions from 12:30pm-4:00pm will not.
The purpose of the forum is to solicit professional advice to inform the development of a plan for improving emergency responders' capability to prepare for and respond to pipeline emergencies through assembling a meeting of leaders in the emergency response community, the government, the pipeline industry, and the interested public. Members of the public are encouraged to attend this free forum and also submit written comments, either before or after the workshop.
All attendees and webcast viewers are encouraged to pre-register for the forum to help ensure that suitable arrangements are made. For more information regarding the meeting, visit the PHMSA web site or contact Sam Hall at (804) 556-4678 or by e-mail at sam.hall@dot.gov.
