NVFC to Offer Junior Firefighter Recruitment Video

The National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program visited a junior firefighter training at the Rockville (MD) Volunteer Fire Department on Sunday, January 15, to film footage for an upcoming junior firefighter recruitment video. The video, made possible through support from Tyco International, will be available in late spring on the National Junior Firefighter Program web site.

Filming at the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department.

The NVFC is working with Zayas Hendrick Mediaworks, a Maryland-based multimedia production company, and Dave Statter, Emmy-winning local news reporter and creator of STATer911.com, to develop the video. Rockville firefighters and junior firefighters participated in candid interviews, scripted lines, and action shots for the video, which local departments will be able to use to recruit in their communities. The finished video will be available for download so that departments can show it at open houses or take to schools or other community events to promote their junior firefighter program.
