New Free Fire Scene Communications Program Available

The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest free training program, Fire Scene Communications, is now available. Communications is perhaps the most critical component of emergency response, and its breakdown is the root cause of far too many failures and tragedies. This program defines communications and its elements, discusses best practices, and presents tactics that ensure that information is being effectively disseminated.

This program consists of a 60-minute video program and an accompanying PowerPoint program. Firefighters and EMTs can view the video material with the PowerPoint file acting as their hard copy notes, or they can use either resource independently.

The presenter is former Chief Michael Finney, the CEO of the Open Fire Academy, adjunct faculty for the National Fire Service, a faculty member at four universities, and the author of several books for the fire service.

The PowerPoint and video portions of the program can be used by any agency or member either as-is, or as a basis from which to construct training modules or presentations of their own. Simply go to www.ffsupport.org to download your free copy.

The Firefighters Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting firefighters and rescue personnel perform their jobs effectively and safely. They also set aside a portion of their funds to aid underfunded agencies and assist families of fallen firefighters.
