Fire Prevention Week is October 9-15
Published Date: 09.27.2011
Fire Prevention Week is only a few weeks away. Make sure your department takes advantage of this opportunity to spread important fire prevention and safety messages and information in your community.
The theme for this year’s event, held from October 9-15, is: “It’s Fire Prevention Week! Protect Your Family From Fire!” Use this time to motivate your community to take an active role in preventing home fires and protecting their families with life-saving tools and planning.
Utilize your department’s Fire Corps team to help deliver fire prevention education to your community during Fire Prevention Week and all year long. You can use the tips and resources from the Fire Corps web site to distribute in your community as part of your Fire Prevention Week campaign, and find additional tools and resources for conducting fire prevention programs. If your support or auxiliary program is not currently registered with Fire Corps, register for free at www.firecorps.org.
For more information about the Fire Prevention Week, including planning materials, safety tips, statistical information, and other resources that can be used by fire departments, Fire Corps teams, and teachers, visit www.firepreventionweek.org.
