Feature Your Department in the Upcoming NVFC Standards Guide

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is working with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to create a standards guide for the fire service. The guide will examine four major NFPA standards to offer clarification and provide manageable steps a department can implement to work toward the goal of adoption of these standards.

The NVFC would like to profile departments that have been successful in working toward compliance for the following standards:

• 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications
• 1720 Standard for the Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations and Special Operations to the Public by Volunteer Fire Departments
• 1500 Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program
• 1851 Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting
