NVFC Chairman featured in interview

TV news show CBS Sunday Morning ran a story on November 28 highlighting the importance of the volunteer fire service in our nation. Newscaster, travel expert, and volunteer firefighter Peter Greenberg provides a glimpse into this noble and long-standing profession and how communities across the country rely on volunteer firefighters to keep them safe. In this season of giving thanks, Greenberg reminds Americans of all that volunteers do to serve their communities every day.

National Volunteer Fire Council Chairman Philip C. Stittleburg, who serves as chief of the LaFarge (WI) Fire Department, was among those interviewed for the story. The segment includes footage from this year’s National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service to pay tribute to the dedicated men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their communities.
