Additional Profiles Needed for Upcoming NVFC Standards Guide
Published Date: 02.03.2012
Thank you to all who submitted profiles to be featured in the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) new standards guide. We still need a few more departments to highlight!
The NVFC is working with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to create a guide for the fire service that examines four major NFPA standards to offer clarification and provide manageable steps a department can implement to adopt these standards.
The NVFC is looking for departments that have been successful in working toward compliance for the following standards:
- 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications
- 1720 Standard for the Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations and Special Operations to the Public by Volunteer Fire Departments
- 1500 Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program
- 1851 Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting
Email Allison Moore at amoore@nvfc.org if your department is interested in highlighting its efforts to utilize these standards.
