State Benefits Summit

2011 Meeting Overview
The 2011 State Benefits Summit was held at the Ft. William Henry Resort & Conference Center in Lake George, NY, at the end of September. Fifty-two state fire association delegates (24 states represented) and 21 partners attended the four-day meeting.
Attendees shared and learned from each other’s experiences on varying and successful benefits programs as well as presentations on succession planning, working with the media, growing membership, and more. The program committee was led by Harrison Breuer of the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York and was facilitated by Ron Roy of the Washington State Fire Fighters Association. The National Volunteer Fire Council provided logistics and meeting coordination as well as served as the Summit’s official “recorder.”
