Please join the National Volunteer Fire Council for its annual spring Board meeting in historic Old Town Alexandria. This meeting is an important time spent conducting business, getting committee work done, and spending time together. The spring meeting also honors outstanding achievements by individuals and departments at the Saturday night Awards Banquet.

NEW LOCATION

This year’s meeting is being held at a different hotel - the Holiday Inn and Suites Old Town - which is a sister property to the Crowne Plaza, where we’ve been meeting for the last several years. Guest rooms have been updated, there is continued complimentary shuttle service to and from Reagan National Airport, the King Street Metro station, and the heart of Old Town….and you’ll enjoy a small decrease in room rates.

SPECIAL ACTIVITY - hosted by the Maryland Delegates and MSFA!

Friday Night Reception at the Friendship Firehouse Museum * 7:00-9:30 pm

Please join the Maryland State Firemen’s Association for hospitality and specially guided tours of the Friendship Firehouse Museum. First built in 1855, this Alexandria landmark is chock full of history and artifacts. Tours will be provided courtesy of the Friendship Veterans Fire Association and the City of Alexandria and given by historian Katherine Weinraub.

The museum is located in Old Town Alexandria and easily accessible using the free Old Town Trolley that goes up and down King Street. You may choose to have dinner before or after the reception at one of the many nice restaurants along the waterfront or on King Street. Maps and directions will be in your registration packet!

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Holiday Inn & Suites Old Town Alexandria has been selected as the spring meeting hotel. There is complimentary shuttle bus service to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. There is also service that drops off and picks up in and nearer to the heart of Old Town Alexandria on King Street.
